I just finished judging the 2010 Radiostar songwriting competition. Always a fun task! Such diversity in our country from coast to coast. Hard to believe it's been 14 years since I won the contest, grabbed the cash, and made The Original Leap Year - slaving away, recording to 2-inch tape after hours at a studio in Toronto with Stuart Brawley!

Sounds like prehistoric times!

The sun was out today and I drove to Sass Jordan's and we shredded on one of my tunes for the duets album. She is just bad-ass all around. Her huzzband Derek recorded us and simultaneously, washed vegetables for a vegan pizza as he got ready for a gig in the USA.

i love people who run for buses. who say yes instead of no. and people who if you call them the night before a radio show, they will A) learn your songs to play with you B) join the musicians union so they can participate and C) carry a Fender Rhodes to the radio station, unassisted.
