Early-ass train to Toronto. The dead get on before 6. The working get on at Guelph after 8. I still feel like a teenager when the suits file on, perky from coffee in their Dockers slax and thick Dell laptops.

They exhaust me.

I am 14 weeks pregnant as I write this. So as most other pregnant lasses know your one and only priority at this stage is to HUNT FOR FOOD LIKE A GODDAMN WOLF.

One weekend in 1999, I played a show at the Forest Fall Fair on a flatbed truck. The next weekend I was on Saturday Night Live in David Bowie's band. I was very lucky to be on tour with him for a short time even though being a hired gun was never one of my plans.

Today DB turns 65.

As is the case when everyone gets a little older, I get nervous and want to hang onto them forever.
